Recently, I was interviewed by Dan Brown for his A Lens A Day YouTube series. In these conversations, information architects reflect on one of the cards in Dan’s IA Lenses deck.

Dan and I focused on the card labeled Inverse Implication. Among other things, the conversation covered how distinction-making creates contexts that affect how people behave.

When we define a set of distinctions, such as manifest in navigation, you are sending the people who visit that place messages about what’s expected of them.

It was an honor to be invited to participate in the series. I hope you find as much value in our conversation as I did.
