My friend Peter Van Dijck and I livestreamed an informal conversation about AI agents. What are they? Are they a thing or mostly hype? What are the best use cases?

As a co-founder of Simply Put, Peter came at the question from the engineering perspective. And as a co-founder of unfinishe, I approached it from a more strategic angle. (Although these two perspectives are tightly coupled, obviously.)

During the conversation, I shared an early model of different cognitive styles required for agentic systems. My takeaway: a fully independent agentic system is still aspirational. But for some fields (e.g., software development,) there are are real benefits today.

We’re planning to do more of these in the future, and would love to hear what you think about this first effort. What would you like us to do differently? Or perhaps there’s a topic you’d like us to tackle. Whatever the case, please leave feedback in the YouTube video.
