Over the last couple of years, my focus has been on AI. In February, I announced my intention to pivot in this direction. Today, I’m excited to announce the first concrete sign of that pivot. Here’s the rub.

I’ve spoken to several small businesses who are curious about AI but unsure of what to do about it. In most cases, their people have tried ChatGPT for sundry office tasks. But at this point, most are dabbling.

Leaders don’t know where to start. Many are worried about privacy, accuracy, and liability. Some are also concerned about automating away the aspects of the business that make them special. And AI vendors aren’t helping; many are pitching magical thinking.

That’s why Greg Petroff and I have teamed up to launch a new strategic consultancy. We’re calling it unfinishe_.

Our aim is to help growth-minded leaders use AI to free their people from drudgery so they can focus on work that matters.

We start by understanding a business’s workflows, goals, and constraints. Then, we identify where AI can actually help. Not hypothetically, but actually. We’re doing it through short, strategic engagements that can lead to targeted prototypes.

The focus is making teams more effective and motivated by aligning AI with how they actually work. No hype or generic roadmaps — just thoughtful guidance and hands-on help.

We’re live now at https://unfinishe.com. If you know a small business that’s struggling to gain traction with AI, please point them in our direction — we can help.
