Late in 2012, I was invited to contribute a chapter to a book in Spanish about interaction design edited by Lorena Paz, director of the program of interaction design with accessibility standards and usability at Argentina’s Universidad Tecnológica Nacional. The book, Pioneros y Hacedores: Fundamentos y Casos de Diseño de Interacción con estándares de Accesibilidad y Usabilidad (tr: Pioneers and Makers: Foundations and Case Studies in Interaction Design with Usability and Accessibility Standards) is now out, and can be acquired from the publisher, Ediciones Godot. (An ebook version is underway.)
My contribution is a chapter entitled Entre la Arquitectura y la Información (tr: Between Information and Architecture) which deals with the relationship between information architecture and traditional (building) architecture. Other contributors include Jared Spool, Steve Krug, Jakob Nielsen, Don Norman, Jonas Löwgren, Laurel Evelyn Dyson, Toni Robertson, Stephen Grant, Yusef Hassan Montero, Sergio Ortega Santamaría, Olga Carreras Montoto, J.M. García de la Torre, D. Márquez Quintanilla, Emmanuelle Gutiérrez y Restrepo, Sebastián Betti, Mari-Carmen Marcos, Verónica Mansilla, Manuel Razzari, Verónica Traynor, Claudio Segóvia, and Mariana Salgado. An all-star cast!
There is a dearth of original work being published in Spanish about user experience design. I’m proud of being part of this work, and thankful to Lorena for having asked me to contribute.
